Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Dullapally in Kompally on Thursday when members of the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad attacked buses of Mallareddy College of Engineering and Technology. The organisation had  called for a bandh demanding the release of scholarships and fee reimbursement.

Members of the student organisation were agitated as the college management had decided to keep the college open despite the bandh.

On Thursday morning, a group of youngsters intercepted the buses at Dullapally crossroads while they were on the way to the college.

“As the buses slowed down, the agitators started pelting stones at the buses damaging window panes. No other major damage was caused to the vehicles. No student was injured in the attack,” said A. Subhash Chandra Bose, inspector Petbasheerabad.

The situation was brought under control immediately by the police.

The college management lodged a complaint that  11 of their buses were damaged. However, cops said   seven  buses  had suffered  damages.

Based on the complaint, a case was booked under relevant Sections of the IPC and is being investigated.

Sources said cops have identified and picked up the miscreants involved in the attack.
