OngoleOne person committed suicide and another died of heart attack in connection with the Agri Gold crisis in the district. An agent of Agri Gold, T. Sudhakar, 45, who had mobilised Rs 60 lakh deposits for the company, of which  nearly Rs 30 lakh  had  matured, committed suicide by consuming pesticide in at his house in Vemavaram village under Ballikurava mandal on Tuesday.  
 
According to sub-inspector P. Chowdeswar, he has been under pressure from depositors for refund of deposits. With the company not repaying the deposits,  the agent  unable to bear the pressure,  resorted to the extreme step. He is survived by wife and a daughter and son. He worked  in the postal department. 
 
In another incident, Lingala Satyanarayana, a carpenter aged 42, of Gurajepalli village under Yeragondapalem who had deposited Rs 40,000 in 2008 in Agri Gold died of a heart attack while watching a news report on TV about  Agri Gold Company. 
 
Satyanarayana was waiting to get his refund as his deposit had matured. The cheque issued by the company for Rs 72,000 bounced. He had recently got his third daughter married and hoped to clear his debts with the deposit money.  He is survived  by wife and five daughters.
