Sanjay Dutt granted 14-day furlough from Yerwada Jail

The PK actor has been granted the furlough by the jail officials

Mumbai:  Sanjay Dutt serving a sentence in Yerawada jail in a case related to the 1993 serial blasts, has been granted 14-day furlough. According to Hindustan Times, Dutt will be released after the formalities are complete. The actor had filed an application seeking a 14-day furlough, which was put before the deputy inspector general of police (prisons), who is the sanctioning authority for leave. 

A prison official was quoted in the report saying," "Around two months ago, the actor had applied for furlough. We have sent the application with the required recommendations to the office of the DIG (prisons). Dutt had taken furlough around a year ago and is eligible for the same this year too."
 
The 55-year-old had been in jail for the remaining 18 months in the case in the past. The actor is just in time to witness audience reactions for his film 'pk' that was released on Decemeber 19.
