The bench asked why suicides were persisting when the government had attended to their problems.

Hyderabad: Reacting to the submissions of the petitioner Pakala Srihari Rao of Medak district, who appeared as party in person for farmers before the High Court bench, Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta asked the government counsel to explain the steps taken to rescue farmers.

Counsel replied that the government had already attended to the problems of farmers according to the directions of the court in a similar petition filed earlier with regard to farmers suicides.

The bench asked why suicides were persisting when the government had attended to their problems.
