Watch: Ayushmann Khuranna set to fly high in 'Hawaizaada'

Based on true events, the film will take you on an emotional ride

Mumbai: After creating a stir with powerful posters, makers of 'Hawaizaada' released the trailer today. The film starring Ayushmann Khuranna's is based on the life of scientist Shivkar Bapuji Talpade, who is said to have built India's first unmanned aeroplane. The movie is helmed by Vibhu Puri is set in Bombay of 1895. The film also stars Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Sharda.

Ayushmann expressed his excitement announcing the trailer launch. He posted- "All flights are getting delayed. Fasten your seat-belts. Seat backs upright. Window shades open!"

Ayushmann whose dream is to build a plane sports a nerdy look in the film. His Marathi touch is effortless and the manic passion is hard to miss. The trailer manages to brilliantly showcase the characters without giving away much of the plot. The strong background music puts forth few interesting facts many might be unaware of. Wright brothers flew World's first airplane in America but eight years earlier, it was already achieved by an Indian.

The scientist was subjected to a lot of criticism and faced lots of difficulties as his concepts were mocked at. Based on true events, the film will take you on an emotional ride.

During the launch of the trailer, Rajeev Lamba, CEO Relaince entertainment who was present at the event mentioned, "This has decidedly been one of the most difficult films I have come across." Director Vibhu Puri added, "It's a history lesson that wasn't given to us. I was thinking of doing a biopic on JRD Tata. This story came to me during research. Someone told me that an Indian had made a plane before Wright brothers. This story was too inspiring to be true. I went out research and the film came to life."

The movie has been shot in Mumbai and Gujarat. As there was little available about the protagonist, the Director had to construct a narrative.

Ayushmann Khuranna on the roles he has played so far, "There was no conscious effort, but this will be an image change by default for me." Ayushmann will be seen next in 'Dum Lagake Haisha' where he will be playing a simpleton from UP.

Pallavi Sharda who will be making her Bollywood debut said she was excited on being approached for the film. "Vibhu came to me and he thought I was capable enough to do such a role," she said.
