Mumbai: Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘pk’ opened to fabulous public response over the weekend but he is not happy. Reports went viral about Umesh Shukla being offered Rs 8 crore by Raju and Vidhu Vinod Chopra to stall the making of 2012 release ‘OMG-Oh My God’. The Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal starrer, based on a play Kanji Virudh Kanji, and Hirani’s ‘pk’, had striking similarities, whose respective lead characters were in search of God.

Yesterday, we caught up with Raju Hirani and asked if he was aware of such reports. Initially surprised he later denied offering any money back then. “Please please call Umesh Shukla and ask him or call Paresh. This is absurd, how can someone say like this,” a visibly agitated Hirani told us.

Aamir Khan, who was also present during this conversation came to Raju’s defence and said, “It's all lies...fabricated. You should be very careful about what you believe.”

The actor however seconded that thematically both the films are similar but ‘pk’ has a different plot. He explained, “I think thematically both films run on a same theme but the plot is different. 'Pk'’s plot is of an alien who lands on earth and he is actually not interested in anything earthly. In fact he is not even interested in the theme. He is only interested in getting his remote back. All he is concerned about is his remote and to head home. The plot, the character and circumstances are totally unique and totally different.”
Director Rajkumar Hirani wants to go for a vacation before he stars working on his next.
