Kolkata: West Bengal Transport Minister Madan Mitra was questioned on Friday by the CBI in connection with the multi-crore rupees Saradha ponzi scam.

Mitra, who arrived at the Salt Lake CGO complex at around 11 am, went straight to the CBI office and did not speak to waiting media persons.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made around the CGO complex housing the CBI office.

The special crime branch of CBI probing the Saradha scam, had served summons on Mitra last month to appear before the agency for questioning.

Mitra had taken ill and was admitted to a private nursing home. Later, he was admitted to the state-run SSKM Hospital from where he was released on November 26.
