Kozhikode: The love affair between a Hindu youth and a Muslim girl has ended happily after he converted to Islam. The youth Reneesh, 27, a native of Villiapalli near Perambra, had been missing for the last two months after his affair with a Muslim girl came to light.

He  was brought to Vadakara magistrate court on Thursday evening when he  told the court that he had left his home to study Islam religion and that he had converted to Islam.

Later,  the magistrate allowed him  to go along with the group who had brought him to the court.

Reneesh’s mother had lodged a complaint with the Vadakara police  that someone had taken her son from her house and that he had gone missing since then.

The  police  traced Reneesh to a religious conversion centre at Mukhadar in Kozhikode. When the police team tried to meet the youth, the authorities refused permission and told them that they would produce Reneesh in the court.

"We did not see the youth. The religious centre authorities told us that they were a licensed religious centre and that they will produce him in the court.

Reneesh was in love with a Muslim girl, who was his co-worker. The girl is now pregnant," said Mr  Sunil Kumar, sub-inspector of Vadakara police station.
