Mumbai: Bollywood's funny man Boman Irani turned 55 today. Not only is he known for his sense of humour and easy-going charm, but also for his body of work in both, film and theatre. Before foraying into Bollywood, Boman Irani began his career onstage. The actor is now however greatly appreciated for his roles in comedy films, and is remebered most for his performance in ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, where he played the role of Dr. JC Ashthana.

He was hilarious in Aamir Khan-starrer ‘3 Idiots’ as well, where he portrayed the strict college director, Dr. Viru Sahastrabuddhe – better known as ‘Virus’. He garnered much acclaim for his performance and was honoured with a Filmfare Award Best Supporting Actor. Boman's last film ‘Happy New Year’, along with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah created history in Bollywood Box-Office. 
A number of celebrities took to Twitter to wish the star on his special day including Farhan Akhtar, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar and Farah Khan among others.
