Vijayawada: The realty boom in the capital region has led to an increase in the sale of gold in ornaments in Guntur and Krishna districts.

“The fall in gold prices affected the business of all jewellers. However, the jewellers in Krishna and Guntur districts are doing considerable business in the off season also.

The realty boom in the two districts has shielded the gold business from experiencing the fall,” said assistant manager of Chandana Bros.

Another jewellery showroom owner, who has showrooms in both Vijayawada and Guntur, said, “Our showroom in Guntur recorded more than the average.

This is because people in the capital region went to Guntur regularly for their farm related works. So, naturally, that showroom got more footfall, translated to business.
