Thiruvananthapuram: PCC president V. M. Sudheeran’s Janapaksha Yatra finale on December 9 will set off the KPCC revamp. Thiruvananthapuram DCC president K. Mohan Kumar  is likely to become the State Human Rights Commission member soon. KPCC vice-president N. Peethambara Kurup and treasurer Karakulam Krishna Pillai are among the probables for the  DCC president’s post.

According to Congress sources, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala are keen to give  Mr Mohan Kumar  a suitable placement as he has been  the DCC chief for two consecutive terms.

Mr Mohan Kumar, 58, had replaced Mr Peethambara Kurup in 2005 when he joined K. Karunakaran’s Democratic Indira Congress.

Mr Chennithala told DC that only the TVM DCC president post would  see a new face. “The appointment of Mohan Kumar as a  member of NHRC is yet to be finalised. We are keen to see that he gets the key post,”  he said.
