Hyderabad: The construction work on the 154 Metro Rail pillars, between the Greenlands junction and Road No. 5 of Jubilee Hills, can now be carried out without any hitch as the High Court has given its permission to follow the Master Plan.

The 4.6-km stretch will require acquisition of properties and removal of traffic bottlenecks. The road will be widened by 15 to 20 feet. This stretch on Corridor III was challenged by traders of Greenlands, Ameerpet, Madhuranagar, Yusufguda and Sri Krishna Nagar.

N. V. Reddy, MD of Hyderabad Metro Rail, said, “The construction work can’t be carried out without acquiring certain properties. For the rail alignment, more space is required. The court order is of great help.”
