Dharmapuri: Congress legislators will raise the issue of hike in milk prices and the proposed increase in electricity charges by the AIADMK government in the Assembly session slated to begin on  December 4, Tamil Nadu Congress president E.V.K.S.Elangovan said here on Tuesday.Elangovan was in Dharmapuri district on Tuesday to meet party workers and prevent them from crossing over to the breakaway faction led by former Union minister G.K.Vasan, who is all set to float a new party. 
 
The Congress leader told reporters the hike in milk price has affected the common man and his party would raise the issue in the Assembly session.On the Congress government in Karnataka proposing to build the Mekedattu dam  across Cauvery river, Elangovan said that he would request the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to shelve the project that would affect the interests of the TN farmers. 
 
“If Karnataka Chief Minister fails to accede to the request of Tamil Nadu Congress, a mass agitation will be organised  by the Congress workers in Tamil Nadu,” he warned. On the spate of infant deaths in Dharmapuri and Salem government hospitals, TNCC president Elangovan called for a thorough investgiation into the causes of the death of newborns in these two hospitals. “Mere statements are not sufficient, a comprehensive enquiry is needed,” he insisted.
