Hyderabad: The TRS and Telugu Desam who are ruling in Telangana and AP respectively, have decided to take on each other in Parliament during the Winter Session commencing from Monday.

This became evident at the All Party meeting convened by Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday in Delhi where TRS and TD floor leaders in Lok Sabha differed with each other on renaming the Shamshabad Airport after NTR.

TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, had just two days ago directed his MPs to co-operate with the Central government in all respects including supporting the Bills that are scheduled for the session.

“In today’s all party meeting, I had told very clearly to Rajanath Singh that my leader Mr Chandrasekhar Rao directed us to co-operate with the NDA government and get all funds and projects for Telangana.

However, on the same day, we got orders on renaming of the Shamshabad airport after N.T. Rama Rao.

This is shocking and unless the Centre withdraws its orders on this issue, we will create halla gulla in the Lok Sabha. These are the exact words I told them,” said TRS Lok Sabha leader A.P. Jitender Reddy  on Sunday.

He also said there is no going back on the TRS commitment to seek justice on all key issues enshrined in the AP Reorganisation Act and that they will demand for immediate resolution of all issues including the violations by AP government.

“It is upto them to accept our gesture to be friendly or get ready for confrontation,” Mr Jitender Reddy said.

However, AP Telugu Desam members in Lok Sabha also decided to resist any moves by the TRS members to raise any contentious issues including renaming of the Airport.

“After all the government has implemented the Cabinet decision taken in 1999. If the TRS wants to make it an issue, we will counter it.

Apart from this, on any issues concerning the AP state, we will seek justice for the promises made to AP in the AP Reorganisation Bill” said Thota Narasimham TD Leader in Lok Sabha.
