Hyderabad: Following the joint meeting with Governor E.S.L. Narsimhan on Wednesday, HRD ministers of both states, Ganta Srinivasa Rao (Andhra Pradesh) and Jagadish Reddy (Telangana state) were scheduled to meet on Thursday evening to discuss the Intermediate exams issue. However, the meeting was cancelled due to  Mr Reddy’s busy schedule.

Andhra Pradesh HRD minister Mr Rao said,  “We are ready to concede ground in the interest of students,” indicating that the AP  government was not averse to common exams being conducted by a Telangana-controlled Board of Intermediate Education.

However, when asked  about it, Mr Rao said, “It is a hypothetical proposition. We will discuss all the possibilities and come to a conclusion.”

The  decision has to be taken immediately since the printing of question papers  takes four months, at the earliest.

“This means that unless a decision is taken in the next couple of days, the  exam schedule will have to deferred,” sources said.
