Mumbai: Bollywoood is gripped with biopic fever and most of the big names in the industry have been roped in to play reel life version of characters that we admire. News is that Rajkumar Hirani is making a biopic on one his closest friends and Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who is currently in prison for illegal possession of arms relating to the 1993 Mumbai blasts. According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor was roped in to play the lead role. Though there has been no official announcement about the project, word is that the film will go on floors before Sanjay Dutt is released from Yerawada jail.

However in a recent interview with NDTV, Ranbir broke his silence over the playing Sanjay Dutt's part. The Kapoor scion went to say, "I have, in the past, spoken about many films but nothing has worked out, so I don't want to jinx it. It has not been offered to me, but I hope that I can be a part of Mr Hirani's films, try and portray Mr Dutt on screen. He is a very important personality. I think biopics are tricky, They are not a history class. They have to be colourful, they have to be entertaining, they have to cover the life of the personality on screen effectively. Also there are other personalities involved and it is very sensitive to use their names and their relationship but I am sure it will be very interesting to portray Mr Dutt's life if that happens. If there will be life or a biopic I would have to choose, I would pick my grandfather Raj Kapoor any day. If I was a woman, then Lata Mangeshkar."

Do you think Ranbir Kapoor will be able to portay an onscreen Sanjay Baba?
