Depression may intensify into Cyclone

The report mentions that conditions are favourable for its progression

Visakhapatnam: The low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal  developed into a depression on Tuesday and will further intensify into a deep  depression in  the next 24 hours.

The Indian Meteorological Department said that the monsoon depression is located 690 kms away from Visakhapatnam.

Officials in AP are on high alert in case the  depression turns into a tropical cyclone. Principal secretary of the energy department Ajay Jain said they had ordered material which would be positioned at Vijayawada. It would be shifted to the south or the north coast depending on necessity and possible landfall of the cyclone.
