Ornaments worth Rs 6 lakh recovered, 2 burglars held

The gang burlged houses in Adilabad town and neighbouring areas between January

Adilabad: Special police of Adilabad detained two of a five-member inter-district gang of burglars and recovered gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 6 lakh, a laptop and TV set from their possession in Adilabad town on Monday afternoon.

The two arrested were  Sheik Akthar, 25 and  Jabbar Khan, 26, of bordering Maharashtra.

Producing the duo before mediapersons here on Monday, Superintendent of Police Dr Gajarao Bhupal said they burgled houses in Adilabad town during January-March this year.

The SP appreciated the members of the crime control squad in the Range for their efforts in nabbing the burglars.

Additional SP D. Joel Davis, other police officers T. Panasa Reddy, rural in-charge CI B. Mohan, II-town CI T. Narayana and SIs Rana Pratap, Pullaiah, Santhosh Singh and J. Ramu were present.   

The SP said that search is on for the remaining three members of the burglar gang. The arrested  duo would be interrogated for more information on their gang members.
