Tollywood’s 10-hour charity show

Industry is planning marathon charity programme which could even have Rajini and Kamal Haasan

Hyderabad: The Telugu film industry is planning a 10-hour-long programme, tentatively on November 9, to raise funds to help the victims of Cyclone Hudhud.
 
According to sources, all top personalities from the industry will be participating in the event which will include dance performances and many skits by top Tollywood stars. Not only Telugu stars, but top Tamil stars including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya and Ajith may also participate in the programme.
 
The amount collected from the event will go to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, says a source.
 
“We are still discussing and it is too early to comment. We can give all the details in the next couple of days,” says N.V. Prasad, chairman of AP Film Chamber of Commerce.
 
Meanwhile, television channels are vying for the rights to telecast the event for a huge amount. This is not the first time that the Telugu film industry has come forward to help the needy, earlier too the industry has raised funds to help victims of natural calamities.
