ISL: Elano, Mendoza score brace as Chennaiyin FC thrash Mumbai 5-1

Chennai: Brazilian Elano Blumer single-handedly marshalled the Chennaiyin FC players around the turf, scored two goals, as the hosts beat Mumbai City FC 5-0 here on Tuesday. The combination of Stiven Mendoza and Jeje Lalpekhlua worked wonders and the Mumbai defenders were clueless. While Mendoza scored a brace, Jeje netted one.

 

For Mumbai City FC, the consolation goal came in the injury time off Syed Rahim Nabi.

 

 

 

6: Friedrich kicks Mendoza, he goes out. Referee says it's penalty. Nabi let the Chennaiyin FC player run past him initially.

 

9: Elano Blumer takes the penalty, and it's a GOAL! He is right now the highest goal-scorer in ISL.
