Man booked for alleged sorcery in Hyderabad

The man used to make false promises of curing people with ailments

 Hyderabad: The Kalapathar police booked a 60-year-old man for allegedly practicing sorcery. The accused identified as Mohammed Akthar, is a resident of Tadbund and used to make false promises to people suffering with chronic ailments that he would cure them.  SI Shravan Kumar said the case was taken up suo moto and registered under the Magical Remedies Act and Section 420. The accused was taken into custody and during interrogation, he confessed to the crime.
The police said he will be sent to judicial remand after being presented in court.
