Fire breaks out in firecracker market in Faridabad near Delhi, 200 stalls destroyed

Faridabad: A firecracker market at the Dussehra Ground neighbourhood of the city went up in flames on Tuesday.

According to reports, more than 200 shops have been burnt in the tragedy. Around 18 fire tenders have been rushed to the spot and fire-fighters are attempting to douse the flames, while ambulances are waiting on stand-by.

Further details on the tragedy are awaited.

This is the second major firecrackers-related disaster in as many days, after fire broke out at a firecracker factory in the Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, killing 17 and injuring others.
