Nellore: In a bid to help the victims of Hudhud cyclone, former legislator Anam Vivekananda Reddy along with District Congress Committee president K. Dhanunjaya Reddy collected donations from door to door at Nellore on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Vivekananda Re-ddy expressed concern over the plight of people hit by the cyclone and appealed the people to contribute for their rehabilitation.

He said that the funds being collected by his team will be sent to the cyclone relief fund of the government.

He added that correspondents of several educational institutes also offering donations for cyclone relief through him.

He said their collection drive will continue till Wednesday.

Management of Subh-amasthu complex donated clothes worth Rs 20,000 while McLean’s Club presented Rs 25,000 cheque to Vivekananda Reddy on the occasion.

City Congress in-charge Anam Chenchu Subba Reddy and party functionaries Anam Rangamayoor Reddy and Ketamreddy Vinod Reddy were present with the former legislator among others.
