Mumbai: The trend of making biopics on the lives of sporting legends seems to be fast catching on in Bollywood. Saif Ali Khan, son of late cricketing legend, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, was asked recently if he would like to essay the role of his father in a film, if given the opportunity.

Saif feels that neither him nor any actor in the industry has the personality and the suaveness to play his father. “It’s very difficult to express his personality and narrate his achievements on screen. It’d require extreme and intimate detailing, which is very difficult. I can’t think of anyone who can do justice playing him on the big screen,” he said.

Being a producer, Saif understands the commercial viability biopics have, considering the success of films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Mary Kom. Fast to pick a formula, filmmakers have announced projects on hockey legend Dhyan Chand and cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

But not one to follow the herd, Saif has announced that he has no plans of making a film based on the life of his father. However, he has revealed to close sources that top filmmakers have expressed their desire to work on the subject.
