Hyderabad: Naga Chaitanya is going ahead with the release of his upcoming film Oka Laila Kosam as planned on October 17. There are no changes in the plan in view of the Uttarandhra districts being affected by the cyclone. Chaitanya says, “I feel sad on seeing the pictures and hearing the news.

Once normalcy is restored, we plan to re-release the film in those districts,” says the actor. For now only a few theatres in the affected regions will screen the film.

Talking about the film, Chaitanya says that he is called Karthik in the film which is a love story. He plays a 25-year-old guy who is not interested in marriage. “This film has a good mix of romance and entertainment and I am confident that it will do well,” he adds.

Chaitanya says that he wants to work in all kind of films. “I tried my hand in action films and now I am back to love stories as people like to see me as a lover boy! But as an actor I want to try all genres.”

From his last film Manam, Chaitanya has been involved in production too. “In the near future I would like to produce films and now I am learning the basics of production on a day-to-day basis.

I am experiencing the difficulties faced by a producer first hand and am learning a lot,” he says. Asked about his father’s involvement in his films’ promotions, Chaitanya says that his father’s role is limited now.

“My father said, “How many days can I promote your film?  You need to get your own recognition and your own identity. I can’t be there always. So do it yourself.” So now I work on promotion and he steps in to help just before the release,” says Chaitanya.

The actor is also taking the decision to finalise stories for new films, on his own. “Once I like a story then I tell dad about it. He has told me to go ahead if I like it and not to worry about failures because it is part of the learning process,” says Chaitanya.

His father suggested a few changes for this film. “He watched the film after we had completed the shooting. He then suggested a few corrections which we accepted and re-shot a couple of scenes.”

Of late many big films have failed at the box-office and high remunerations for actors, despite failures, have also been under dispute.

Asked to comment on it, he says, “All producers and directors want to make good films. I always cooperate to complete a film within the budget. Not a single film of mine has overshot its  budget,” he says.

When asked about his real “Laila”, the actor laughs and says, “I have asked my parents to look for a good “Laila” and have told them that I will also look for a good one!” Chaitanya is currently shooting for a crime comedy directed by Sudhir Varma.
