Gitam University signs an MoU with TCS

TCS has been associated with the Gitam for several years

Visakhapatnam: Gitam University and Tata Consultancy Ser-vices Limited signed an MoU here on Monday at the university.

The MoU was signed by TCS vice-president V. Rajanna and Gitam University Registrar Prof. M. Potharaju in the presence of Gitam Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Subrahmanyam.

While signing the MoU, TCS vice-president Mr Rajanna said that the TCS has been associated with the Gitam for several years and as part of the MoU, the TCS will support students and faculty through workshops, faculty development programmes (FDP), student awa-rds, project awards and internships.

Gitam University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Subrahmanaym said that the university is actively associated with IT companies like the TCS to enhance the IT knowledge.

He also said that this year around 550 Gitam engineering students were selected during the campus recruitment drive conducted by the TCS. He hoped that the present MoU would benefit the students as well as the faculty to acquire the contemporary IT skills.

Meanwhile, a vibrant atmosphere with lot of enthusiasm prevailed near Rushikonda, particularly at Gitam University campus on Monday during the Chief Minister’s visit. Gitam president Dr M.V.V.S.Murthi, Chancellor Prof. K. Ramakrishna Rao, Vice-Chancellor Prof.Subrahmanyam, along with hundreds of students greeted Mr Chandrababu Naidu with garlands.
