‘Make in India’ to be launched today

Centre set up a portal where enquiries by investors will be answered within 72 hours

New Delhi: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to launch his “Make in India” campaign  on Thursday, a slew of measures are being taken to attract investors.The Centre has set up a portal www.makeinindia.com where enquiries by investors will be answered within 72 hours. For this, a dedicated cell has been created. A proactive approach will be deployed to track visitors for geographical location, interest and real-time user behaviour. Subsequent visits will be customised based on the information gathered.
 
A facilitation cell will provide assistance to foreign investors from the time of their arrival in India till departure. This initiative will target top companies across sectors in select countries.
 
The “Make in India” initiative, to be launched by Mr Modi at Vigyan Bhavan here, as well as in state capitals and Indian missions abroad,  aims at identifying select domestic companies with leadership in innovation and new technology to turn them into global champions.The focus will be on promoting green and advanced manufacturing and helping these companies to become an important part of the global value chain.
