Bengaluru: Not just the BJP corporators, who have repeatedly protested against ugly flexes across the city, but also the BBMP that has time and again launched campaigns to remove hoardings, shamelessly flouted the rule a day ahead of Prime Minster Narendra Modi's visit to the city.

On Monday, the Old Airport Road was festooned with hundreds of flexes hanging from trees, electric poles and even buildings greeting Mr Modi. The flex boards, which carried pictures of BJP leaders in various sizes, were hung on every available place, right from Trinity Circle to the HAL office.

BBMP Commissioner M. Lakshminarayan only said that the BJP had obtained permission to put up 110 flexes for a day. But a random check revealed that the number was definitely more than double of that.
