Hyderabad teams qualify for ‘Techfest’

All the three qualifiers for “Codeblitz” were from Hyderabad

HyderabadEngineering students from south India took part in the initial rounds of IIT-Bombay’s “Techfest” that was conducted at the Vardhaman College of Engineering here at Shamshabad.
 
Students from Bhimavaram and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Belgaum, Nagpur, and Vellore participated in the first round of “Technocalypse”, a competition for robots. 
 
All the three qualifiers for “Codeblitz” were from Hyderabad. Karthik Ganduri of Vignan Institute of Technology and Science, said, “There were 60 teams and it was a tough contest. Mathematical skills were also required. I am glad we qualified.”
 
Nine teams will be selected for the final round in Mumbai. “Technocalypse” qualifiers are held in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Indore, Bhubaneswar and Mumbai. Three winners from every centre are selected for the “Technocalypse Finale” which will be held at IIT-Bombay during “Techfest 2015” from January 2 to 15.
 
The winning teams from the zonal centres will receive '1.68 lakh   in cash at the finale and certificates of excellence from IIT Bombay.
