Tamil actor Simbhu bagged the award for the Best Male Singer Telugu

Hyderabad: The South India International Movie Awards being held in Malaysia saw something really different when Tamil actor Simbhu bagged the award for the Best Male Singer Telugu, for the song Diamond Girl from the NTR Jr starrer film Baadshah.
 
After receiving the award, Simbhu thanked music director S. Thaman and NTR Jr for giving him the opportunity of fulfilling his dream of becoming a singer. The actor singer won the maximum votes against Shankar Mahadevan who was nominated for the award for his song Bapu Gari Bomma from the Pawan Kalyan’s film Attarintiki Daredi.
 
During his winning speech, Simbhu, in the presence of Chiranjeevi, announced his wish to sing for none other than Pawan Kalyan. The actor said, “It’s an honour to receive this award in front of megastar Chiranjeevi  garu. My thanks to NTR and Thaman for making this happen. I would like to sing for Pawan Kalyan in future.” The actor, before walking off the stage, sang a few lines of Diamond Girl.
