HyderabadDeputy Chief Minister Dr T. Rajaiah defended Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for pulling him up publicly for promising to set up health university soon. Mr Rao’s comments at the Kaloji programme in Warangal earned the wrath of a section of Dalits, including Manda Krishna Madiga, but the Deputy Chief Minister said it was their “family matter.”

“CM made the comments in a good faith. But some people are trying to use the incident to attack the CM I strongly condemn it,” Mr Rajaiah said. Rumours were also agog that the Deputy CM would be dropped in the next cabinet reshuffle.

Describing KCR as fatherly figure for him, Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs and party leaders and cadre, he said the Chief Minister has huge responsibility in taking up developmental activities. Deputy Chief Minister post to me is a gift from KCR. Its great to be a worker than even a MLA under KCR. If I do a mistake, the Chief Minister has the right to rectify as a fatherly figure and party leader.

A small comment is being blown out of proportion by vested interests, he alleged. Asserting that the Chief Minister had done a lot for Dalits in the State including launch of 3-acre land scheme for landless Dalits, the Deputy Chief Minister said he strongly condemns attempts to shoot at KCR through his shoulders.
