Thiruvananthapuram: Outgoing Governor Sheila Dikshit will leave for New Delhi on Thursday.

The new Governor P. Sathasivam will arrive here on Thursday evening and will be sworn in on Friday.

According to Raj Bhavan sources,  Ms Dikshit, 76, had a busy schedule during the last two days.

On hartal day, Raj Bhavan staff celebrated Onam with her and tasted Onasadya. 

She  gave lunch to the Chief Minister and his council of ministers  at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. 

The UDF government hosted a dinner for her at Mascot Hotel which was attended by all UDF leaders. 

The Raj Bhavan staff gave her a send-off on Wednesday when she addressed the majority of them by  their names and bade them adieu.

“The outgoing Governor will be given a guard of honour at the airport at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday  after which she will leave for New Delhi by Indigo flight. The new Governor will arrive at the airport the same evening and he will be sworn-in on  Friday morning” said a top Raj Bhavan official.
