Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly
Hyderabad:Apart from the ‘muhurat’ trouble, which postponed the announcement of the capital, one of the curtain rods in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly fell down when the Session was in progress on Tuesday, only to confirm that the day was ‘inauspicious’. However, none was hurt. It fell near the treasury benches during zero hour.

The TD MLAs blamed the old building allotted to them to run the Assembly Session, while many MLAs said the incident strengthened the  idea of ‘Tuesday with Ashtami being inauspicious’.
After bifurcation of the state, the old Legislative Building was allotted to AP, while the new one went to Telangana state.

Congress to give tough fight to TD:

An interesting fight is set to be played out between the TD and the YSRC   to  grab the deputy Chairman post in the AP Legislative Council for which nominations will be filed  on Wednesday.

Technically, the ruling party does  not have  sufficient strength to win the  post, but due to several defections from the Congress and the  YSRC,    the TD is confident of winning  the  post in the election to be held on Thursday.

TD named  Independent MLC K.V.V. Satyanarayana Raju, popularly known as   ‘Chaitanya Raju’, a new entrant to the party, as its candidate. “With the blessings of Chandrababu Naidu,  I am sure of winning the post,” said Mr Raju.

In a related development, the Congress decided to field a party candidate to take on the challenge of the  TD. “We are going to field our candidate as we enjoy majority in the House,” said president Raghuveera Reddy.

The Congress feels that it  can give a good fight to the TD candidate provided the present and the former president of the party take this fight seriously.
