Thiruvananthapuram: RSS chief Mohan Bhagawat has urged the  workers to practise discipline, patriotism and dedication and work together for society’s development.

Addressing the chinthan baitak at Thodupuzha on Wednesday, he said a strong shakha was the country’s soul as the RSS stood for a strong entity. Some 2,000 RSS workers from the Thodupuzha and Vannapuram revenue taluks attended the meeting.

He  recalled that  500 years ago, the motto was ‘like the ruler, like the people’ which has since been changed to ‘like the people, like the ruler.’   Just because the rulers had changed, the country hadn’t seen much development.

“If the country has to develop, there should be an efficient leadership which should also have dedicated workers. All RSS workers should practise ideals in their families and society also,”  he said.

RSS state secretary and Prantha Karyavahak P.  Gopalankutty Master told DC that earlier Mr  Bhagawat held talks with the feeder organisations of the sangh. The BJP was represented by its organising general secretaries K. R. Umakanthan and K. Subhash who are RSS nominees.

“When the RSS chief was here last time, he had said that compared to other districts in the state, there was a dearth of RSS workers in Idukki district. Hence it was decided to hold the sanghik of two taluks today,” said Gopalankutty Master.

On Thursday, Mr  Bhagawat will hold talks with the shakha units in Kattapana revenue district where representatives of RSS from mandalam, taluk and district will take part.
