New Delhi: The CBI is all set to file chargesheet in the controversial Aircel-Maxis deal case, allegedly involving former communications minister Dayanidhi Maran on Thursday.

Sources said that CBI director Ranjit Sinha has already approved the draft chargesheet. The agency has taken into consideration the opinion of attorney-general Mukul Rohtagi, the representations sent by Maxis and material evidence collected by it through judicial requests and other methods.

Meanwhile, Mr Maran  approached the SC seeking to restrain CBI from filing charge sheet against him in 2G spectrum allocation scam allegedly involving Aircel-Maxis deal. He alleged that CBI is proposing to file char-gesheet out of political vendetta as the probe is still not complete.
