BJP president wants big win for party in GHMC elections

Hyderabad: Promising the Centre’s full support for development of Telangana and AP, BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday exuded confidence that the people of the South, leading from Telangana, and East would ensure a big win for the BJP in 2019 elections.

He asserted that the BJP government at the Centre would fulfil all its electoral promises in a time-bound manner before seeking a fresh mandate after five years and dismissed Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s charge that the BJP had come to power by making false promises to people.

“The BJP should ensure a big win in the ensuing GHMC polls in Hyderabad and lead the party to a big win in the next elections in Telangana. GHMC polls should be the beginning of the party’s growth in Telangana,” he said.

Stating that in the 2014 elections, people of the North and West gave a huge mandate to the BJP, he added, “People of South and East too have voted. I am confident that the 2019 government at the Centre will be formed with mandate from South and East states and Telangana will lead.”
