Visakhapatnam: To encourage the hospitality sector, HRD minister Ganta Srinivas Rao said that the state government would allot lands belonging to Simhachalam Devasthanam for setting up star hotels.

After launching free food scheme for devotees at the temple, the minister on Sunday said that the government would allot land if star hotel groups come forward to set up hotels in the city to cater to the needs of locals in the wake of projected growth. He also said that, government would establish professional colleges in the lands belonging to Simhachalam temple.

“We have plans to construct an educational complex with engineering and medical courses on land belonging to the Simhachalam devasthanam like the TTD. There are so many valuable lands belonging to the temple board that are lying unused,” said the minister.
