Hyderabad: Fresh certificates from the government will have to be obtained with details of fields relating the previous certificate copies, Aadhaar card number and household survey number, to be eligible for various welfares scheme offered by the Telangana government.

Another field in the survey requires the applicant to inform whether his family was settled in Telangana or elsewhere at the time of notification of the community as SC, ST or BC. This indicates that welfare schemes might be made available only to then residents of Telangana and not everyone.

However, the government is yet to clarify on this issue.

The adaptation of the Regulation of Issue of Community Certificates Act also gives legislative backing to the intensive household survey since the survey number is to be provided for obtaining community and nativity certificates.

  • Applicants also need to furnish existing caste certificates meaning they would have to obtain new ones now.
  • Community of father and mother are also sought.
  • Whether the applicant is natural born son or adopted is also sought by the proforma.
  • Aadhaar card number.
