Lakhs of couples set to marry on August 13, 14, 15

People are waiting as pandits are busy on these three days

Vijayawada: It is the most  auspicious time for weddings.
Mr Krishna Sudheer Sharma, a panchanga pandit from Hyderabad says, “Sukra Moudhyami is between September 20 to November 30 has auspicious days on  13, 14, 15. Though some muhurats are available on 19, 20, they are best suited for specific nakshatra jatakas. Others need to wait till December or February, as  marriages are not advisable during  Bhad-hrapatha  and Sankranti.”

Mr Shivkumar Sharma, a senior pandit from Vijayawada says  that at least 1,000 marriages will be conducted in and around Vijayawada on each muhurat.
“People are waiting as pandits are busy on these three days. The rush is also because if this muhurtham is missed, the marriage has to be postponed by a year.”

Mr Anant Kumar, manager of Subhamastu AC Kalyana Mandapam in Vijayawada confirms that their hall has been  booked three months ago and  full payment collected in advance while Ms Rama Devi of Sai Jewel Convention Centre said that their hall was  booked six months ago. Mr Venkateswarlu, a decorator says, “Every decorator is  busy. We are doing almost double the work we do on  regular days.”  

Mr Kesava Rao, a  caterer from Guntur,  says "We have thrice the number of orders for these three days. We need to hire more workers and suppliers."
Mr. Jagarlamudi Murali Krishna from Nujvid says, "We  just confirmed the date and my family members have tried in vain for halls. So, we have decided to set a pandal outside our  home for  the marriage!"
