Mahindra for Dhruv plant in Telangana state

Hyderabad: Mahindra and Mahindra chief executive Pravin Shah on Saturday met Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the Secretariat and offered to set up ‘Dhruv tractor’ manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad with an investment of over Rs 300 crore.

Mr Rao assured him that the government will provide all the facilities for setting up the plant at the earliest.

The company also offered to provide pick and drop facility for metro rail commuters from metro stations to residential areas for the convenience of passengers.

Mr Rao urged Mr Shah to come out with proposals to make Hyderabad, a pollution-free city, by manufacturing battery-run vehicles along the lines of those in developed countries. He said the government will provide all the support if any company comes forward to take up the project.

Mr Rao said there should be battery-recharge stations along the lines of petrol pumps in the city and the government is ready to offer all the support for the purpose, if any company comes forward with the proposal.

The Chief Minister told Mr Shah that the Telangana government is all set to unveil its new industrial policy soon which will be the best in the country. He said the government is planning to set up industrial parks around the city with the participation of private companies.
