Paralympic athlete, gymnast felicitated by state

Both the athletes were felicitated for their performance at the international competition

Hyderabad: State gymnast Aruna Reddy and Para athlete Challa Pavan Kumar were felicitated by Lav Agarwal, Secretary to Government and vice-chairman and managing director, Sports Authority of Telangana State. The former, who has won over 100 medals at the national level, represented India in the just-concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she finished 18th.
 
Amputee Pavan is India’s first blade runner who has won a silver medal in 100 metres and a bronze in the 200 metres events at the IPC Athletics Grand Prix held in China in April this year.Mr Agarwal assured Aruna of all possible assistance in enhancing her performances and to win medals in the ensuing Asian and World Championships. He also presented a cheque for Rs 1.50 lakh to Pavan towards financial assistance for his International sporting career.
