New Delhi: In an effort to resolve the UPSC exam row, the Narendra Modi government announced in Parliament on Monday that “English marks in CSAT-II will not be included for gradation or merit, and 2011 candidates may get a second chance to appear for the test next year”.

This, however, came under attack from the Opposition, which alleged the BJP was trying to give preference to Hindi-speaking states at the cost of non-Hindi speaking ones.

The agitating civil service aspirants were also dissatisfied, and scores of them vowed to carry on their fight for “complete scrapping” of CSAT.
