Flipkart has done it once again. The third day of the Xiaomi Mi 3 sale went BOOM!! in a flash for the third time. Flipkart, this time, reportedly sold out almost 15,000 handsets within a 2 seconds of the sales counter opening up on August 5 at 2 PM.

We present an article where the customers are facing clock timer issues with the browser on their PC which is not synchronized with the Flipkart server clock. Result—the sale is over before the timer on their browser even hit zero. Check out the article which explains with proof that three browsers have different countdown timers on the flipkart site.

Customers showed their disgust as more than a lakh Xiaomi fans registered for the handsets and less than 15 per cent have got a chance to get their hands on the goods.

Fans waiting to buy the handset have reportedly been preparing for almost a hour before the sale opened. Many of them made sure they did not miss that first click, bang on at 2:00 PM. Even though they tried, they failed. Flipkart had already sold out the handsets before some could even refresh the page.

Sadly, Flipkart did not seem to do justice to these customers. Flipkart should have allowed registering of the Mi 3 depending on only the number of handsets they could supply. For example, if they know they have 10,000 handsets, they should only register 10,000 customers with a nominal charge and balance to be paid on sale day, to ensure the sale. The rest of the customers could have been told that they would be allowed when the stock arrives. Presently, it seemed like the same vision of the Apple Store on Fifth Ave in New York where anxious Apple fans wait around the store and get served by first come first served basis.
