First 3D theatre in Kerala opened at Thrissur zoo

It has 50 seats and a 200 inch metallic silver screen

Thrissur: The first 3D theatre in a museum in the State was inaugurated here on Friday. The theatre will screen wildlife documentaries and short films to create awareness among visitors.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 85 lakh inside the museum campus at Chembookavu, the air conditioned theatre has 50 seats. The theatre has a 200 inch metallic silver screen with 7.1 DTS sound system. It has a passive 3D system for the convenience of the viewers. Films of 30-minute duration will be screened between 10 am and 5 pm. Entry will be restricted through special pass.

Thrissur Museum authorities claim it to be the first passive 3D System at a museum in the State. A wildlife documentary produced with visuals from Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur Zoos and Kozhikode Krishna Menon Museum was screened on Friday as part of the inauguration.
