Badaun rape case: CBI fails to exhume bodies; DNA test now in Hyderabad

Personal belongings and vaginal swabs were sent for DNA analysis

New Delhi/Lucknow: Having failed to exhume the bodies of Badaun rape victims for a fresh autopsy, the CBI will be sending their personal belongings and vaginal swabs for DNA analysis at a laboratory in Hyderabad.

CBI sources said the clothes and a few other personal belongings of the victims were collected from the family  on the suggestion of the three-member panel of the forensic experts accompanying it.

Meanwhile, in Lucknow the family of the 32-year-old woman who was allegedly gangraped and  murdered on the outskirts of the city has  demanded a CBI probe into the incident.

On Sunday, the police had claimed that a private security guard killed her with the “keys of his motorcycle” after his rape attempt failed.
