Hyderabad: Hyderabad district administration is set resume over 292 acres of unused land allotted to different public and private organisations in and around the city.

These organisations include the AP Housing Board, APIIC, GHMC, BSNL, and others. The district administration officials have prepared over 170 notices which will be issued starting from Monday.

“These organisations have been stating that due to lack of planning and fund crunch, they are unable to utilise the land for the purpose it was assigned. Therefore, we have already initiated steps to resume the unused lands,” said Mukesh Kumar Meena, Hyderabad collector.

Usually, three years are given to organisations to utilise the land for the purpose it had been sought for, or to promote a particular sector or industry.

Of the total 292 acres, the Hyderabad district administration decided to retrieve 30 acres in Shaikpet allotted to APHB, 20 acres in Golconda area assigned to AP Infrastructure Industrial Corporation, 15 acres in Ibrahimbagh allotted to GHMC, and 1-2 acres each to AP tourism department, health departments and others.
