Hyderabad: A 35-year-old NRI has lodged a police complaint against a cosmetics clinic at Hitec City for botching up a laser hair removal treatment and leaving her face badly burnt. The Madhapur police arrested two doctors, including the owner of the clinic, following the victim’s complaint.

The incident took place in the Reshape Non Surgical Slimming & Cosmetic Clinic when Ms V Chandana Reddy, who lives in Chicago, USA, went for facial hair removal. The police produced the clinic owner, Dr M. Kiran Kumar, and Dr K. Konda Reddy, who treated Ms Chandana, before a court.

“We have arrested them after booking a case under IPC Section 337 for causing hurt by an act of endangering life or personal safety of others,” said Madhapur SI V. Srinivasa Rao.

Ms Chandana, who was visiting her house in Ayyappa Society, went to the clinic on June 18. She alleged that the doctor was inexperienced. “The owner confessed that the doctor was just three days old at the clinic. They also had not updated parts of the machine,” she said.
