Prabhu Narsim is set to rock the filmi duniya

 

Bangalore: His gait exudes enough confidence to make the drab laptop bag he carries, look trendy. A quick look at him and you’d see why this 25-year-old is the face of Blumerq and why he is all set to make his tinsel town debut. Prabhu Narsim may be a nerdy microbiologist, but at heart, “I’m a performer,” he says. 

 

A research associate with ITC, Prabhu tried his luck at a contest by a men’s clothing brand. Little did he know that he would not only win it but also meet popular voices, Kumar Sanu and Arijith Singh. “I was nervous but it was a fantastic feeling to walk in front of a sea of people,” he recounts. From imitating mannequin poses to walking the ramp, Prabhu has come a long way. Although he pursued science passionately as a career option, it was fashion that had caught his attention. “What was even better was being offered to endorse the brand,” he says. And that paved his way onto the big screen. “The director had seen me walk the ramp and offered me the role,” he says and lights up as he talks about it. “It’s a psychological thriller and shooting commences in October,” he reveals. And with him being picked for a reality show on Zee Kannada, he has his plate quite full. “Srujan Lokesh’s offer came as a pleasant surprise,” he says. 

 

As he twirls his aviators between his fingers, it’s not hard to imagine who his onscreen role-models could be. “I revere Rajinikanth,” he says, adding that he draws inspirations from namma Sudeep and Prakash Raj. When he’s not busy researching and developing food products, being a poster boy for clothes or emceeing just for kicks, Prabhu is addicted to fitness. “I’m usually playing cricket or volleyball or hitting the gym,” he says, thinking twice before he picks up the next butter cookie in front of him. 

 

For this city boy, coming from a non-filmy background isn’t such a bad thing. “I’m a quick learner,” he says. As he prepares for another day of juggling science and fashion, he talks about the kind of roles he looks forward to the most. “Being associated with namma Sandalwood is high on my list,” he says. But for now, he’s content to ride past huge hoardings of himself, across the city.
