Islamabad: A Christian member of Pakistan’s provincial Balochistan Assembly, Handery Masih, was shot dead in Nawan Killi area near Quetta on Saturday by his security guard. “The MPA (member of the Provincial Assembly) was killed and his nephew was wounded in the gunfire,” said a police official. “Handery Masih’s personal security guard shot him outside his residence.

He was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed,” the official said. He said the security guard identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin has been arrested. Minority MPA Handery Masih belonged to National Party. He was Balochistan MPA for 12 years. The motive of the attack is not known.
