Hyderabad: The new capital of Andhra Pradesh will have skyscrapers with important offices like the Secretariat, Assembly, High Court and commissionerates located in close vicinity.

Sources said high-rises are being planned to reduce land acquisition for the capital. Since there were apprehensions that there will be large-scale land acquisition that could result in thousands of farmers being uprooted from their high-productivity yielding lands, the government plans to dispel this notion and also go for vertical development.

Depending upon the land availability for the capital city, a policy would be brought out on the maximum height of the high-rise buildings.
